NCMC meets on Mondays and Thursdays from around 7pm at Highball Climbing Centre for some bouldering and roped climbing. Most Thursdays we enjoy a drink afterwards at a watering hole near by.
Email join@norwichclimbingclub.co.uk if you would like to meet us and find out more.
Our members range widely in age, skill level and experience. However, we all enjoy climbing and being socialable as a club whether its down at the wall or organising climbing trips away.
As a club we meet twice a week to climb at the wall, organise social nights and most importantly climbing trips. Destinations include: The Peak District (the most
popular), The Lake District, North Wales and Scotland.
We also have a strong passion for winter climbing and mountaineering, and organise a yearly winter trip to Scotland and/or the Alps.
Other trips have been organised to Spain, France, Switzerland, Thailand and even Africa. Although the club is predominantly about climbing rock we do enjoy walking
and just being out in the mountains.
The club is a great way to do more climbing to develop your skills and experience. To aid this the club has all the basic gear that you can borrow to help get you
started before you buy your own including: wall ropes, harnesses, helmets, outdoor lead rope, a lead rack, ice axes, crampons and more.
Club members are normally more than happy to help people improve their climbing, however, we cannot teach you to climb or use the ropes. If you are interested in learning, we recommend that you sign up to a course through the BMC or Highball or another provider and come and join us when you 'know the ropes'!
